Hossenfeffer anyone?

I spy with my little eye (actually Sterling saw it first)....a bunny wabbit behind the bush across the street. Not your usual gray/brown bunny but a white one with brown spots on it. I went over and it was obviously tame as it came right up to me sniffing my toes.

Great...another animal episode in our house. Anyone remember the incidence with the baby robin or the chipping sparrow? We just seem to have at least one episode a year of bringing a lost or injured animal to the humane society every year...ugh...

We brought the bunny home and put it in Piper's crate since it was just sitting in the garage. It eagerly ate lettuce and carrots. I posted an ad on craigslist and Noah and I made signs and walked around the block taping them to the light posts.

I REALLY hope someone claims this rabbit or its going to the humane society tonight...or we're having hossenfeffer for dinner...hehe...just kidding :P

The owner just called and is going to come pick up the bunny. YEAH - no trip across town today!

Here's the Looney Tunes episode: http://www.jogyjogy.com/watch.php?id=1982c

Busy weekend!

We got a lot done this weekend and had a lot of fun with the kids...felt good to keep moving but my body's glad for a restful Sunday night!

It started Friday - we went to the pool after Joe's nap. Got there about 2:00, Sterling came after work and we left there about 5.

Saturday was spraying the weeds and keeping the wash going. The kids dusted and vacuumed the living room. Sterling went to rent a rug doctor and cleaned the living room carpet. It was FILTHY but looks MUCH better now - only the coffee stain remains. After dinner we went for a walk to the park. We couldn't stay long at the park and got caught in the rain on the walk home. Joe loved it and while Noah and Jack complained about walking home in the rain, they didn't want to come inside when we got home.

Today Sterling installed a light under the basement steps. Its been a while since we finished the basement and that's the one thing that just got overlooked. But its done - woo hoo! I stripped the wood around the garage door today. It had been peeling pretty bad in spots and its the first time we've been in a house long enough to be around for maintenance - HA! It was slow going at first because I only had 180 grit sand paper but a quick trip to Menards for some 60 grit and I had the stripping done in no time. Sterling picked up the primer and I got that on too, but we can't pick the paint up until tomorrow - they were ready to close when Sterling dropped off the sample today. Folded about 6 loads of wash (the kids fold all the napkins and towels though :), cleaning the kids bathroom and vacuuming the entire upstairs...shwew!

Weekend over :(

Noah's 10th Birthday!

Hard to believe its been 10 years since my baby girl made me a mama. She had a great birthday and had two friends sleep over Friday night. We had some family over yesterday and it was a really nice day. Noah got a hammock for her birthday from Sterling and me and she loves it :) So, here are the pics :)

Its officially summer here!

Can't deny it after looking at these pics :)

More good manners...

Notice the napkin on Joe's lap. He likes to put it there just like Mommy and Daddy do :)

No Thank You

This morning I was nursing Joe in the chair, giving him a minute to get ready for his day before the daycare kids got here. I wanted to get up and get some coffee and asked him if he could be done with his nu-nu for now. He looked up at me with his big brown eyes, not stopping to nurse and says, "Oh, gank you". Translation: No, thank you.

What a well mannered boy :)
